In February 2021, TGS launched a new business unit; New Energy Solutions (NES), with the ambition of becoming a world-leading data and market intelligence provider for geothermal, wind and solar energy, carbon storage and deep-sea minerals. This growth will be achieved through acquisitions, partnerships as well as organic growth. The company has already launched products for Wind Energy data and Carbon Storage solutions, among others.

TGS is looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to lead the marketing, communication and promotion of a portfolio of market intelligence and energy data products and services for the NES business unit (BU). The position will be based in Oslo. Products and services include data and data-driven solutions for market intelligence, site evaluation, energy resource estimation and forecasting, performance monitoring and optimization, as well as consulting, supported by artificial intelligence, high power computing and machine learning capabilities. The role will also generate marketing content for NES businesses, working closely with other) product marketing specialists. Experience with digital marketing channels, including social media, is important.

The role will be a member of the of the global TGS marketing team based in Oslo, London and Houston, reporting to the Director of Product Marketing.

For the right candidate, this is the chance to establish, develop and manage the global marketing and communications function for a newly created and fast-growing business unit aimed at new energy solutions, including renewable energy.

The successful candidate will need to fit into a close-knit team and performance-driven culture. A strong passion for business, proficient organizational skills, and an ability to network with other internal teams and departments is critical.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with cross-functional Business Units to plan, develop, implement, manage and measure strategic marketing plans and initiatives.
  • Develop corporate and product messaging and content for various marketing and sales collateral, including advertising, editorial, brochures, e-mail campaigns, social media, Annual Reports and presentations.
  • Attend weekly BU update meetings to represent the Marketing department, report on any Marketing initiatives relevant to the BU and collect information to disseminate to the rest of the Marketing team.

Digital Marketing

  • Plan and execute content and campaigns to promote NES initiatives and products through social media
  • Review, revise and update content on the TGS website NES products/initiatives and other interactive properties. Recommend and craft content
  • Identify, prepare and publish press releases relating to NES activities.
  • Design and execute digital marketing automation initiatives (e-mails, landing pages, etc.)

Data Analysis

  • Gain a clear understanding of our peers, competitors and business environment both in the NES segments to evaluate, track and measure marketing activities
  • Leverage best-practices, competitive research and market analysis to make strategic recommendations and optimize efforts
     

Advertising

  • Coordinate and maintain a calendar of all advertising commitments. Work with NES business unit leadership, business developers and sales teams to establish subject matter through business needs. Oversee the design and publication of ads and articles.
  • Produce/provide content and support development of campaign design concepts for print and digital advertising
  • Foster relationships with industry stakeholders to identify promotional opportunities

Tradeshows and Events

  • Work with the BU to formulate sponsorship strategy, content and provide general input on regional presence at industry conferences and tradeshows
  • Assist Tradeshow and Events Manager with planning and coordinating TGS region-specific client events, NES events, and technical seminars
  • Attend regional tradeshows as a marketing representative, where required.

Job Requirements (Education and Experience):

  • Master’s degree in, Business, Marketing, Communications or related field
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience from renewable energy or other fast-growing segments is desirable
  • Experience designing, writing and publishing in social media
  • Solid knowledge and a proven track-record in digital marketing is a big plus
  • Experience in technical writing an advantage
  • Experience with working with marketing and brand related to conferences, workshops and similar events
  • Experience conducting research, data analysis and customer segmentation is preferred
